Earlyverse
What is Earlyverse Alpha?
Earlyverse is fresh out of the printing press of one person’s brain! That person, the creator, is not a designer nor a millionaire. And so, all current artwork for the game needed to be created with a small to non-existent budget.
Thus, the original artwork was developed by AI using Canva’s Magic Media App with all of the design prompts coming from the imaginations of the creator and his life partner.
The first iteration of the game is being sold at cost as an
“Alpha Set” with the goal of introducing the game to a tight-knit community of EarlyAdopters. EarlyAdopters will be the first-ever people to play the game and will help shape its future.

The Earlyverse Alpha Set is being sold through The Game Crafter, a game building platform that makes it easy for independent makers to create and sell their games. Since your game is coming directly from The Game Crafter, purchasing one game at a time is more expensive. Even at-cost. The more you make, the less expensive they are.
To make it less expensive, we are buying through “Community Purchase Drops” where we wait to buy until more people are ready to purchase. Purchasing this way can save you as much as $20.
If you’d like to participate in a Community Purchase Drop, please click the “Group Purchase Here” button or join our Discord community.

What comes after Earlyverse Alpha?
After Earlyverse Alpha, comes Earlyverse Beta. The Beta set will be brought to a wider audience through a crowdfunding campaign. The goal is to raise enough funds from the Beta Set through this crowdfunding campaign to then hire a lead designer (or team of designers). This person or team will develop the first non-alpha/non-beta set with the official and finalized artwork.
This is why it’s so important to spread the word and get your friends and community to join you in the Earlyverse! (Aside from having a blast together!)
How will Alpha & Beta be different?
The Alpha and Beta sets will have most of the same elements including characters, abilities, and gameplay rules though one set will have the “Alpha” logo and the other will have the “Beta” logo. EarlyAdopters will be able to share feedback on the game in its early stages. Minor adjustments to the game, characters, and artwork may take place as a result, which would be the only changes between the two sets. Of course, EarlyAdopters will have the first ever Earlyverse set created that won’t be reprinted.
What happens to the Alpha & Beta Sets?
Nothing! There is no plan nor intention to phase out the Alpha and Beta Sets, and they will still be legal to play with future sets and expansions. The core game elements, rules, and even specific card names, characters, and abilities will mostly* all stay the same! (See next questions for “mostly.”) Our goal is to always make accessible games that don’t require card chasing or the continual purchase of new sets for “legal play.” Truly no shade is intended to other card games as we’re incredibly big fans of the major TCGs. We simply want to make a product and experience that does not require our community to break their bank.
What happens to our beloved Alpha & Beta characters?
A number of them won’t be going anywhere! That number is currently unclear. AI has its limitations and many of the ideas the creator and his life partner had for Earlyans and Mischievents just couldn’t be translated into works of art, and we’d love to bring those to life still. On the flip side, we have already fallen in love with so many Earlyans and Mischievents, as we hope you all will too - which is where the fun really begins for our budding Earlyverse community!
We’ll be getting EarlyAdopter feedback on your favorite characters, allowing the community to vote for ones to keep around post-beta.
The ones that stick around will all get a redesign by our future lead designer so Earlyverse can have its own unique character art style. Because, as you can tell, many of them look very different stylistically due to the limitations of AI image generation in maintaining the same style.
